Every Hand Makes a Difference

Are you looking for an opportunity to donate your enthusiasm and help others in need? Volunteer opportunities at Lake-Geauga Habitat for Humanity range from assisting our construction crew with work on Habitat builds to administrative assignments to fun special event committees to taking a leadership role on our board of trustees. While some opportunities are great for gaining experience, others draw on the expertise of seasoned professionals or retirees who have specific skills to donate.

Construction

This is our most sought-after Volunteer opportunity. Volunteers get the chance to make a difference in the lives of families side by side with them building or renovating a home. There is no experience necessary. Our skilled Construction Manager and volunteers train the crew on the job. Building days are Monday thru Friday**, 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

**Volunteer building opportunities are only available when a house is being built or renovated. In between projects, volunteer applicants will be put on a waiting list and informed when a build/renovation is scheduled.

Repair Program

This is our most sought-after Volunteer opportunity. Volunteers get the chance to make a difference in the lives of families side by side with them building or renovating a home. ReStore

The Lake-Geauga Habitat for Humanity Restore receives donations of gently used furniture, appliances, lighting fixtures, tools and more. These items are then sold to the public at 50%-75% off their retail value. The ReStore is a bustle of lively activity. Volunteer opportunities include loading and unloading items, providing customer service, cashiering, processing donations, and administrative support.
