What is a ReStore?

The Habitat ReStores are retail stores open to the public. We accept donations of new and gently used furniture, housewares, building materials, tools, plumbing, electrical and much more. ReStores resell these items to the public 50-75% off retail prices. All net proceeds benefit Lake-Geauga Habitat for Humanity to build affordable, decent housing for families in need.

What are your store policies?

All items are sold on a first-come-first-served basis. We can hold an item for one hour while you shop. Once you purchase an item you have up to a week to pick it up. Items can be picked up Weds-Sat 10:00-3:00. Items can be returned with the receipt within 30 days of purchase (20% restocking fee on cabinet set refunds)

Do you negotiate?

We do not negotiate or haggle on prices. All of our prices are dated and we mark down items after a certain period of time. If an item is priced at more than you were looking to spend check back in a few weeks and it may be lower.

What do you sell at the ReStore?

ReStores are filled with interesting and unique merchandise unlike what you would find in any other stores. Below you will find items we typically have at Lake & Geauga Habitat Restores. If you have an item to donate, check out our complete  List of Accepted Materials below. At Lake & Geauga ReStores we have a combined 25,000 sq/ft of inventory that changes daily. Make sure to check back often because the best inventory comes and goes FAST.

Items We Accept

  • Appliances- Microwaves, ovens, stovetops, refrigerators, washers, dryers  (appliances must be in working order)
  • Furniture- Couches, dining room sets, tables,  computer cabinets, dining room chairs (sets of 4, 6, or 8)  (furniture must be in resalable condition – no stains, tears or rips)
  • Cabinetry- Kitchen and bathroom sets, uppers and lowers
  • Building Materials- Doors, windows, insulation, roofing
  • Flooring (has to be enough for a full bathroom/kitchen)- Wood, vinyl, new carpet, tile, hardwood flooring, etc.
  • Plumbing- Faucets, sinks, vanities, toilets, misc. plumbing hardware
  • Painting supplies-  paint rollers, painting tools, and brushes
  • Lighting- Usable interior and exterior lighting, light fixtures, lamps, vanity and bath lights
  • Hardware-Nails, screws, hinges, knobs, etc.
  • Tools- Power tools, hand tools, lawn tools
  • Electrical- Breakers, electrical supplies
  • Household Items- Dishes- full sets only, home decor, knick knacks
  • Architectural Items- Columns, mantels, etc
  • Small Appliances
  • Miscellaneous- Books, air conditioners/HVACS, wood burning stoves
  • Water Pump
  • Windows smaller than 4×6’

  • Clothing & shoes
  • Computers & computer equipment (scanners, keyboards, monitors, printers, etc.)
  • Custom and L-shaped countertop
  • Drapes, curtains & curtain rods
  • Electric typewriters
  • Electric wheelchair
  • Exercise equipment
  • Florescent bulbs – Only CFLs and LED are acceptable
  • Hollow core doors
  • Hospital beds
  • Jacuzzi and Jacuzzi tubs
  • Large desks-(L-shaped and metal)
  • Linens & bedding
  • Luggage
  • Mattresses and/or box springs
  • Paint, paint thinner, toxic or hazardous chemicals
  • Pianos & organs
